A wood book
This book is made of a piece wood which had been put in Timber Yard corner as a piece of
excess material. When I saw it, I thought I could do some drawing on it. After I cut them, I found there are some special effects which are caused by the electric saw. They are so special, like some special drawing. It also comes with burning smell. I cut them to fifteen pieces. Each piece can be a page of a book. In this book , I take it as a book which comes with fifteen pages. You can see the contents in each page. That is growth ring. I not only like the pattern of the growth ring. But also like the meaning of it. It shows the age of the tree and also reflects the climatic conditions in which the tree grew.So we can see the growth history of tree from each page of the book. When I put all those pieces together according to the order you can clearly see the tree pattern from the appearance. That looks like the outline of the book.
This is the wood bread .When I found this piece of wood. I found the rectangle shape of the wood looks like the bread which we eat everyday. The wood is also around us in our daily life. I cut the wood to the bread size. Then put them in the original order. We can see the pattern of the wood surface. We also can see the wood tried to fia way to arrange each piece of the wood to the proper place. I did them

my photos
This is a photo which I took from Timber Yard. When I first saw it, I was attracted by the scene. It looks really like a beautiful painting. Horizontal Line and vartical line crisscross together. Circle and rectangle mix together. The shape of circles are inside the rectangles, actually rectangles came from cylinder as well. That also comes with color. I like that green color. In my opinion, green always means life. When spring is coming , plants begin to recover.the world is all around green color.when I saw that i thought even though the tree had been cut ,they don't have any life .but for me , the tree trunks have been given new meaning .that is another beginning of the life.

some interesting photos
After doing a lot of charcoal drawing on the paper, I decided to do some new attempts.I planed to do some drawing on the wood .then I went to Timber Yard which is a wood factory in Peckham.when I went there I was astonished by the scene. There are so many woods over there. Some of them have been stamped by the quality or producing area .Some of them are marked by the staff, then they can know them clearly. All of them implied the new identity of the woods. They also look like beautiful drawing. installation or sculpture. These attracted me so much.
